I’m going to be graduating with an Associates of Applied Science in Computer and Information Technology from CSN in the fall and I’ve decided that while the economy is still so rough it would be best to continue on with schooling. As such, I’ve turned my attention to which University I should attend. I have the Millennium Scholarship, so I should stay in state to take full advantage of that. I’ve heard from a lot of people that UNLV isn’t the best school, but does anyone know if they have a good Computer Science program?
Alternatively, does anyone know about UNR and their Computer Science Program and school? Going to live up in Reno is another option I am considering, but I’m undecided at the moment.
I currently go to UNR and the programs and the school itself is becoming one of the best in the nation. UNLV is alright but has no campus life and most people who go there go to party on the strip not for school. The computer science program is getting better and better every year especially with our new library facilites and all the new computers in every building. They are building more and more every year. Check it out, i guarantee you will enjoy UNR a ton better than vegas and reno is a better town for school than vegas is. Reno is a better college town hands down
Only because this is your future and passion. UNLV is cutting programs to meet budget shortfalls. IT is criminal and will be conterproductive to students and the population long term. But, when your governor is more intereted in meeting ladies for a quickie in a parking lot, this will happen. I would pass on UNLV at this time. I agree with the poster on UNR. It appears to be better managed and your career goals are at stake in this question and answers.
Goodl luck to you
