I live in Mississauga which is right next to Toronto, beside me is also the UofT Mississauga Campus. I haven’t heard much on the lines of that campus, all the reviews focused on UofT itself. I’m planning to either major in a business course, like economics or business management, or computer science.
From what I’ve heard, U of T is VERY hard and competitive. Your social life declines and you’ll get pressured by the city life and such… However it is internationally recognized and will probably land you a job faster then Waterloo, I believe. However that doesn’t really matter, since I plan to stay in Canada.
Waterloo on the other hand is a small city with a friendly student life. It’s far away from where I live and I believe it isn’t that recognized internationally, although I’ve heard that their Co-op program is okay and that Microsoft recruits there heavily. It’s been said that it has the best engineering programs in Canada.
Any suggestions? All help is greatly appreciated
Well, first you have to ask yourself if you are living on campus. If you are, go to Waterloo. My friend wants to go there too for Computer science (she wants to do computer enginering, or something like that).
If you have good grades, I would suggest applying to both of the Universities, but I would go to Waterloo. It doesn’t really matter what University you go to, as long as you’re content with it, and you get awesome grades, your good. Do what’s best for you. But if you want to pursue business, I would highly suggest that you consider York University (although you need like a 92% average to get into it). Good luck!!!!
U f Waterloo is also internationally recognized for Engineering/Science. It currently ranks ~#30 in the world — ahead of Purdue.
