Any ideas on demonstrations/experiments for elementary to middle school students for a science camp?
I am trying to convince my high school’s science department to hold a summer science camp for local elementary/middle school students. The camp would help raise money to bring in new technology for our physical science, biology, chemistry, and physics labs. Our computer labs are all up to date with the latest softwares. Our other science labs need to be brought up to date. To me, the science labs should be one of the most technologically advanced places on campus. I want to raise money so that our Read more [...]

Computer science?
Can I still be successful in Computer Science and its field if I don’t know much about computers? I joined a tech club at my high school, and everybody else knows a lot of stuff and know how to do things that I had no idea about or how to do. I feel kind of overwhelmed. Do I have to know as much as they do to be successful in the field? Will I be at a disadvantage? And does college teach you all the knowledge needed for the field, or do you need self studying too?
Math teacher or computer programmer?
Hi, I really need help with this decision, because soon I’ll graduate high school – which means I have to pick a college. If I go for math, which has always been my passion, then my only option is to become a math teacher(being an actuary or anything like this is definitely not an option because it’s boring). Truth is, I would love to be a math teacher, but the biggest con is the low pay. Picking Computer Science would totally solve that problem, but I really have doubts about this one. Is it true Read more [...]
What are the biggest joke majors in your opinion?
I find some of these major questions by high school and college students risible. Many ask about he benefits or the “fun” about some major with no real value and then complain when they don’t get a job because they don’t like “science and math”. Disclaimer: I am an Applied Math and Electrical Engineering dual major with a minor in Economics (boat load of A.P and took community college classes in high school to knock out credits) My list of biggest joke/rip off majors (I hope you young students Read more [...]

If I fail a class, how will it affect me?
My high school has what they call program areas. It is basically a field of study you take throughout high school. As you progress you get college credit. Anyway, I’m in AP Computer Science A. I passed the first semester but at this point, I really can’t take it anymore. 5-10 hours of homework for each lab, given around 2 or so labs a week. It’s mostly up to the student to learn the material as we review in class. Why am I telling you this? I’m fed up with it. I don’t wish to do any more work. Please Read more [...]

Is Neumont university a decent school?
I have got some letters from them and have been researching this school that is located in salt lake city, for a while now. I was wondering if it is a decent school to go for computer science. They also say the average salary out of school is 60,000. Which is very nice. I have found some things online that say it is a respectable school.
