Cal Poly- match, since you didn’t apply to architecture. Did you apply Early Decision?
UCSB- mid reach. Although the school gives high approval and recognition to improvements and leadership (awesome roles, by the way), your overall GPA (3.2) is low for the school, which usually accepts students with a 3.8-3.9 with the same ACT score, and this year you face budget cuts. As a CA resident, though, if you are rejected you’ll be offered admission at another UC.
USC- probably a reach, but I don’t know how much pull your alumni recommendation letter has. You applied to a highly popular major, though, so you may not get your first choice.
Of course, if your struggle was low income, growing up on an Indian Reservation, or you are a recruited athlete, that changes everything. Fact is, college admissions are a giant game that no one is quite certain of the rules for. Luckily you have your safeties, so everything will be fine.
Good luck!
you’ve got a good chance at cal poly for sure, but it depends how strong your alumni connections @ USC are, because otherwise, your GPA isn’t high enough.
UCSB is a great school, you also have a 50/50 shot there. It depends how critical they are with your GPA.
Your extracirriculars are great – and yes, your improvement shines through, and is evident through your GPA.
keep your fingers crossed!
good luck, i hope you get in.
